Overview

Experience Hobart's city landmarks, mountain views, convict-era heritage, local produce and native wildlife in one day. Begin with guided commentary around Hobart before travelling to the 1,272-metre summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington for panoramic views across the city and surrounding landscape.

Continue through the Coal River Valley to Wicked Cheese for a complimentary tasting, then spend time in historic Richmond for lunch and sightseeing. The day finishes at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can see Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, wombats, koalas and other native animals while learning about the sanctuary's rescue and conservation work.

Saturday departures also include 75 minutes at Salamanca Market, with Tasmanian produce, art, handmade goods, buskers and souvenirs.

Wicked Cheese

Stop at the Coal River Valley cheesery for a complimentary tasting and the opportunity to purchase Tasmanian produce from the farm-gate shop.

Richmond

Explore the historic village, known for Georgian buildings, convict heritage, Australia's oldest stone bridge and Australia's oldest Catholic church. Richmond also has cafes, shops and local tasting options for lunch.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Meet Tasmanian and Australian wildlife at a sanctuary focused on rescue, rehabilitation, education and conservation. Entry is included.

Important Information

Saturday departures operate approximately 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Other departures operate approximately 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Pickup times vary by location.

If your Hobart accommodation is not listed, the nominated pickup point will usually be within a 100-300 metre walk. Arrive at least five minutes early.

Wear comfortable clothing and check the forecast before departure. Food and drinks can be purchased during the day, and you may bring your own snacks.
